This is our family driving to pick up April

For the last 5 years plus I have driven 2 hours ever single weekend to see our daughter. We live in La Quinta, California. It is exactly 2 hours from my front door to her gymnastics gym where we have been  picking her up every Friday night.

It is something we did almost every weekend. We would drive 2 hours to see April. On Thursday evenings we would pack up our suitcases with leotards, bathing suits and clothes appropriate for both the type of weather and activities we would be enjoying. Enjoying. That word is relevent.

This is what my passenger seat looks like now. Camera, notebook, court-order, water, the only thing missing was a lunch and supper. On this day i would drive 2 hours and 2 hours before a Sheriff showed up. Christy was nowhere to be found and the Sheriff made another report. Later I would drive the 2 hours home. Sophie was up waiting for me. We talked, she made me laugh, and that night, I slept okay. 

Two things that you should know about me. one:The most important things to me in the world are our daughters. Two: I am a loving father.
Those who know me including Christy, know this. It is because of these two things that I am going through this. If I was like some and money were important to me, then Christy would go after my money. But she knows that it isn't.
She knows how amazing my relationship was with April. She also knows that destroying will invariably hurt me. What she doesn't know is that I will be okay. 
The fact that she is attempting to destroy my relationship with our daughter isn't why I sometimes have a hard time falling asleep. my mind racing about all the

This is the way we all feel after we drop off our April. Jaida really wears her heart on her sleeve. She loves and plays hard. 
We try to re-frame things and bring the focus back on the fun times that we have as a family and how we are lucky to get to see April every weekend.
