What had happened before this particular Christmas.
On December 18, 2010 Megan had a gymnastics meet at our home-gym in Helendale, CA. What happened on this day was abhorrent. On this Saturday morning we are driving to the two (2) hours from our home near Palm Springs to Megan's gymnastics. Something we do every weekend; sometimes on Saturday, sometimes the night before. Christmas Day 2010It had been close to a month since we had seen Megan. Tammy (not me) gets a text message from Christy stating that Megan will be at Jeree's, my sister-in-law's house for Christmas. We are excited. What we didn't know was Christy had instructed Megan to not leave with us. We are excited because we are actually getting to see Megan for Christmas. Little did we know that we wouldn't be opening presents with her until March.
The voice mails are on Christmas Day in the evening. Christy is at work and insisting that we drop Megan off at her work. We received numerous calls and texts from Christy while she was supposed to be working. Later, her supervisor addressed her using her time at work to harass me. At the bottom of the page is my nieces Facebook messages to Megan. She asks Megan if she got in trouble for leaving with her dad on Christmas when her mother told her not to. |
