"No one's personal opinion after spending two hours with a child is worth $25,000, $50,000, $75,000 or MORE. Being a Guardian ad Litem is not a vocation, trade or profession. No one goes to school or college to become a GAL. There is no degree in being a GAL. There is no license required or certification needed. In dozens of states in this country - GALs are citizen volunteers from all walks of life - because to be an effective GAL, all you need to have is strong morale character, experience being a parents - and to be able to listen to the child and the most important people in their lives. This is NOT what attorney-GALs are equipped or ever do. Ironic that in states where GALs are not attorney - 85% of the parents in their courts are NOT Pro Se and they don't have the same operational dysfunction and inherent corruption that exists here. coincidence or cause and effect?" ~Peter T Szymonik
