When I am with a new client It takes me at least 2-3 sessions to begin to get a clear picture of what is going on. And that's with one client. A family or couple may take a little more time and there is always ongoing re-assessment or a re-evaluation of the situation as more things are disclosed or brought to light. Our first mediator spent 15 minutes with me and Christy and then an additional 5-10 minutes with us individually. In those few minutes she made some startling diagnosis. (Christy played the victim card).
The therapist do not look at any evidence nor do they cross examine or look for corroboration.
They are completely overworked and understaffed. But still, I feel that this is no excuse for their incompetence in this area or with this subject matter.
